Visitor Appreciation Weekend ~ June 3 & 4

Celebrate the first weekend of June on Madeline Island!

Highlights include:

VISITOR APPRECIATION Days at the Madeline Island Museum
Explore Madeline Island’s storied past at the Madeline Island Museum for half-priced adult admission.  (Kids 17 & under FREE!).  Experience more than 300 years of Island history, from Ojibwe lifeways to the fur trade, from missionaries to loggers, from boat building to fishing and more! Special children’s exhibits and activities. Located ½ block from the ferry landing in downtown La Pointe, the museum is open 10am to 5pm. Owned and operated by the Wisconsin Historical Society.

The Madeline Island Ferry Line will provide complimentary return passenger fare with admission to the Madeline Island Museum (ticket must be picked up at the Madeline Island Museum). Ticket is valid on June 3 or 4 only for return to Bayfield. Vehicles and bicycles must pay regular ferry fare.

FREE Shuttle to Big Bay Town Park
Experience what visitors have called “the best beach in northern Wisconsin” at Big Bay Town Park! Picnic area with covered pavilion, hiking, fishing, canoe rentals and camping. Bridge spans beautiful lagoon.

Leave your car on the mainland.  FREE shuttle service to Big Bay Town Park offered between 10:30am and 5pm on Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4. Pick up the shuttle downtown. Last shuttle will leave the Town Park at 5pm.

OPEN HOUSE at Big Bay State Park
Explore Madeline Island’s natural beauty while enjoying outdoor fun at Big Bay State Park with FREE vehicle admission. Located 6 ½ miles from downtown La Pointe, Big Bay State Park offers seven miles of hiking, boardwalk and natural trails, beach access, picnic areas and camping.

FREE Fishing Weekend in Wiscosnin! 
Fish without fishing licenses or state trout stamps.
