Any visit to the north woods of Bayfield Wisconsin should include a stay at the Old Rittenhouse Inn. Bayfield takes great pride in this 1890s era Queen Anne Victorian that became Wisconsin’s first Bed & Breakfast in 1974. Today, Old Rittenhouse Inn offers lodging in 20 guest rooms and suites in three historic homes. A gourmet restaurant, the Landmark, is located in the main Rittenhouse Inn building. Another of the Old Rittenhouse Inn’s mansions, Le Chateau, is clearly visible on the hill from the decks of all the Madeline Island Ferry Line vessels.
