Explore History! Discover the magic that has drawn people to Madeline Island’s legendary shores for centuries at the Madeline Island Museum (Wisconsin State Historic Site). Open Tuesday thru Sunday, 10am to 4:30pm.

September 16: Guided Summer Hike of the North End Trails w/ Steve Muelle,  9 to 11am (Meet at the Burrough’s Trailhead,  2.5 miles north of Benjamin Blvd on the North Shore Road). Sponsored by the Madeline Island Wilderness Preserve. Free and open to the public.     * Hike canceled due to wet trail conditions.

September 20: Painting Demo w/Island abstract painter StevenJohn McHugh  @ Bell Street Gallery, 1 to 3pm
September 22: Madeline Island Farmer’s Market, 9:15am to 12:30pm
September 23: 11th Annual Codger Softball Game @ Rec Center, 2pm.  Watch the island women’s softball team take on the island men over 50 team. Come for the fun, food and peanuts, popcorn and more! Cheer on your favorite players. Proceeds benefit the Madeline Island Historical Preservation Association.
September 23 & 24: Anishinaabe Cultural Days: Commemorating the Treaty of 1854 @ Madeline Island Museum, 10am to 4:30pm.
September 26: Storytime @ Madeline Island Public Library, 11am
September 27: Painting Demo w/Island abstract painter StevenJohn McHugh  @ Bell Street Gallery, 1 to 3pm
September 26: Movie Night ~  “The Book Thief” @ Madeline Island Public Library, 7pm. All are invited popcorn served, FREE!

September 30: Guided Autumn Hike of the High Ridge Trail, 9 to 11am. (Meet at Big Bay Town Park Pavilion). Sponsored by the Madeline Island Wilderness PreserveFree and open to the public.
