Located seven miles from the Ferry Landing. Camping, picnicking, hiking, fishing, swimming, and interpretive programs. 60-site (including 15 electric sites) family campground with showers, indoor group camp. Sand beach. Located six miles from Ferry Landing. Family campground. Potable water, pit toilets. 36 tent sites ($15/night). 4 electric sites ($20/night). Some sites available on first-come basis only. Picnic area, fishing, canoeing, swimming, sand beaches. Bridge spans beautiful lagoon. Owned/operated by Town of La Pointe.
The “best” camping locations at the Town Park are by reservation only. Starting this year, camping is only allowed on officially marked sites with limits enforced on the number of residents/site. Please don’t delay…go to http://bigbaytownpark.org to make your reservation today!
Firewood Alert!! In order to prevent the movement of invasive forest insects and diseases, firewood burned in Wisconsin DNR campgrounds must originate from within the state and within 25 miles of the campsite. In addition, firewood that has been harvested, purchased, stored, or moved through an Emerald Ash Borer quarantine area may not leave the quarantine area. “Take home your memories, not gypsy moths!” Inspect your vehicle and outdoor articles for gypsy moth egg masses, remove and destroy them (burn or drown in water with a little bleach) before you leave the island.
